I have just completed my 8-week teaching internship as a second grade student teacher at Alvaton Elementary in Bowling Green, Kentucky.  During this experience I successfully assumed all the roles and duties that a second grade teacher would.  In my class of 20 students, there was a wide range of academic abilities including six students with IEPs.  These differences allowed me to adapt my teaching to take the needs of every student into account and also offered opportunities to enhance the learning of every child.  Both the challenge and positive results of doing so made my student teaching experience particularly worthwhile. Furthermore, I developed my own professional growth plan, and also implemented a classroom behavior management program that you will also see in my online portfolio.
