I believe that technology is an extremely important part of the classroom today!  There are so many resources that are available for teachers to take advantage of and use in their classrooms.  Technology has opened up avenues that would have been difficult to access in the past.  Also it allows teachers to present materials and lessons in a way that may benefit students whose learning styles differ from traditional teaching methods.

Throughout my teaching experience I have used technology a great deal.  I have gained ideas for lessons from the internet, created PowerPoint presentations to aid in my instruction, showed videos from Brain Pop and United Streaming, used the ACTIV Board during lessons, created flipcharts, had my students use technology, and so much more!

This is one of the reasons why I created my teaching portfolio online.  I wanted to show my love for technology and my ability to use technology in the classroom.

I plan to effectively use technology in my classroom.  In addition to the above list of ways I have used technology, I would love to create a classroom website for parents and students to access at home and at school.  I feel that it is important to communicate with parents and students in and out of the classroom.  Creating a classroom website will create that connection between school and home.

Here are a few PowerPoint Presentations that I have created during my student teaching...

Simple Machines PowerPoint -- 2nd Grade

Fractions -- 2nd Grade

Math Lesson 13 and 14 -- Fractions and Probability -- 2nd Grade

Parts of a Flower -- 4th Grade

Subjects and Predicates -- 4th Grade
